another fun and exciting week in the mission field. and it went by screamin’ quick. these weeks are just flying by and pretty soon ill be coming home! but that’s neither here nor there. as far as the week went, not much happened. we weren’t able to meet with many of our investigators and we did have a couple of them drop us. and we were also had a little less meetings with the members as well. so our lessons were down this week but id say the learning was up. we had a Zone Conference this week in Mobile, where President Smith taught as well as the zone leaders, and assistants. the big focus was on family history and how we can use it in our proselyting. it was very powerful hearing president testify of the great power and conversion that can come where people turn their hearts to their fathers. and it opens their hearts to hearing more about the Gospel and why we do that genealogy. it was a long conference and took up pretty much our whole day tuesday. they did feed us really good nachos. Wednesday we spent most the day in Bay Minette and that was fun, we were able to get a couple of potential investigators. then we spent a good lot of the day in Bay Minette on Thursday as well. we had dinner with the Jones’ that night as well. and we taught them about family history and challenged them all to do it. they fed us really good fried chicken. Brother Jones did let us know the situation with President Morris. he is in the hospital in Mobile, with lung cancer. they have started radiation and kemo. and he did well with that. Friday we taught Jerry Ard and read from the Book of Mormon. it was funny cause he had just taken his pill, and he was starting to fall asleep through the lesson. he was a little delirious and he fell asleep while he was saying the prayer. we also saw some of the less active members that day. Saturday we spent the day in the rich part of Atmore (yes there is a rich side) and we built up some potential there. then sunday we saw more members and took the sacrament to those who aren’t able to come to church. thats about all this week.
my studies are going great as well, and Elder Payne and i are good. no complaints there. im enjoying the area and all the great people here. and ill be sad to leave them whenever i get tansfered. and that could be only 2 weeks away.
i would like some advice on how i should mark this set of scriptures i have. how should i organize it and what colors should i use? all that good stuff. i did get a blank triple comb from the mission, but they dont have the bible. the only one they have is one that doesnt have any footnotes. so if yall have one with them id like it.
thanks for the package mother, i enjoy the sweets. i love yall and hope yall stay safe!
