Area 3 week 68-Dothan, Alabama– Great week and growing testimony

Dear Family!
Happy New Years! i hope yall had a great week and have enjoyed yalls winter break. it sounds like yall are having a lot of fun on your family vacation and have a lot of fun things planned for this week. i hope everyone stays safe and has fun! i appreciate all that yall do for me and for the support, encouragement and the letters that you send. i enjoy them and look forward to them. you could just continue to send them by email and i will do better at reading quickly and sending longer emails.
it has been a really awesome week here in Dothan! we have had a lot of unexpected success this week in our finding and teaching investigators. and i am gratefull for that and for the spirit that i have felt throughout the week. we have found 2 families that we are hoping to continue to teach this week. one is a young couple, Tyler and Brynn, who we tracted into. it was a bit of a miracle how we found them and i am confident that we were unknowingly lead to their door. we found them Monday evening and we had planned the night before to tract their street. we drove to their neighborhood and as we turned down the street, i kept driving almost to the end of the street, where i normally would have parked at the start. we parked literally right in front of their house and it was the first and only door we knocked that night. they invited us in and we ended up sharing a breif summary of the first 3 lessons and they asked us to come back and offered to feed us when we did. i am very hopeful for them, and feel that we were led to them because they are prepared. they also know a few members here in dothan so that definitely helps. Zone training was this week as well and it was very good. i learned a lot and the spirit was very strong throughout the meeting. i felt Gods love for me and felt that he understands where i am at and my desires. it was very helpful. Wednesday we had a great lesson with Caelan Cisneros, a referral that we had recieved last week, and his mom Sam. we taught them the Restoration and they were very interested in learning more. we also had a good lesson with our investigator Cassandra, we were finally able to meet with here and taught the restoration as well. that evening they wanted us to be in at dark for new years eve, so that was like 5:00 here. so we hung out with the 2nd ward elders and ordered pizza. we spent our time trying to get a ping pong table that they found earlier that day into our apartment and upstairs. we had to take it apart to do it. but now we have 2 ping pong tables in one room of our apartment, and we spent the night playing unltimate ping pong with all 4 of us. thursday we had interviews with president Smith which were good, and sister Smith hinted that 1 of the 4 companionships in Dothan may be leaving at transfers. Saturday we had a really good lesson with Bennie, one of our investigators that we have been meeting with for a while. we read 3 nephi 11 with him and ended up teaching the restoration as well. it was led by the spirit and i am confident that he felt it. we invited him to be baptized when he came to know that it was true, which he agreed to. he prayed at the end of the lesson and i beleive he got an answer, although he did not say. sunday was really good, but it was too bad that none of our investigators came to church. there were some really good testimonies shared and the spirit was strong. we had lunch at the Durfees which was awesome and later that evening went on splits with the Elders Quorum Presidency.
It was a great week and i look forward to this week. everything seems to be on the upward. the ward is awesome and very supportive, our new ward mission leader is getting a lot done, and we have a member signed up to go work with us every night this week. i know that there is loads of work here for us to do and the only thing that has been holding it back is ourselves. so i hope to do my very best to help the work to reach that potential and find those who are ready for the gospel.
i am doing great and really loving my mission. i am grateful for the experiences that i have and for the things i have learned and who i am becoming. i love learning and studying from the scriptures and have enjoyed the spirit that i have learned to recognize in my life. i again am grateful for everything yall do and i wish you a great week!
ill have to think some about what i will do about school when i get home. at this point i dont think i would be prepared financially to go straight to school. i dont know if i would suggest spence going to school before his mission, i didnt feel that was very effective for me. i would have just worked full time and saved all i could for the mission and school afterwards. or if i could have just left sooner. but he needs to make that choice.
